The following are suggested steps to take prior to your pickup to help ensure a quick and smooth recovery.
Office Environment:
- Consolidate items to one area of the building
- Locate items as close to a loading dock or building exit as possible
- Separate devices by category
- Inform your building manager that the pickup is occurring and reserve elevator and loading dock access if necessary
- Ensure that reception or other key team members are aware of the scheduled pickup time in case the crew has trouble getting in touch with you upon arrival
Data Center Environment:
- Power down all equipment
- If racks/PDUs are being removed, ensure they have been disconnected from power grid
- Consolidate miscellaneous equipment parts/spares or other loose equipment to one area of the data center or cage
- Inform your building manager or colo operator when the pickup is occurring and reserve elevator and loading dock access if necessary
- If the cage is unmanned, we will need a ticket number to reference to gain access to the data center
